Sealy New Zealand is proud to continue their support for Breast Cancer Foundation NZ through its annual Designer Bed campaign, helping the Foundation to continue its life-changing work. In collaboration with iconic New Zealand creatives, each year the campaign raises funds for BCFNZ through the creation of a bespoke bed, which combines artistry, craftsmanship, and purpose and is placed on Trade Me for auction, with all funds gifted to the charity.

With 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer every day in New Zealand, donations are essential to fund early detection education, patient support, research, research grants and advocacy. BCFNZ relies entirely on donations to provide support to the community, with funds from the Designer Bed auction making a meaningful difference for Kiwis affected by breast cancer.

This year’s collaboration features one of Aotearoa’s most recognisable names in music and design, Boh Runga. Best known as the frontwoman of multi-platinum best-selling band stellar* and founder of the successful Boh Runga Jewellery brand whose collections draw heavily on native flora and fauna, presented in sterling silver and gold.

This collaboration brings together the support and comfort of the Sealy Posturepedic Exquisite bed, with the creative design vision of Boh Runga, creating a bespoke bed that offers the promise of deep and restorative sleep.

At the heart of the bed’s design is the ‘Feather Bow’, inspired by Boh Runga’s signature feather motif, paying tribute to the iconic BCFNZ Pink Ribbon. With the final embellishment making this Designer Bed truly one-of-a-kind: a Boh Runga ‘Feather Kisses’ sterling silver pendant, carefully draped over the bed label, to wish sweet dreams for many years to come.

The surrounding space features layers of soft texture, neutral linens and wooden tones, creating a restful bedroom environment inspired by the beauty of the natural world.

Completing this very generous auction package, is a curated console of Boh Runga Jewellery, featuring a bespoke charm necklace that celebrates the feather elements of this year’s Designer Bed, a Promise Pearls necklace, along with Pearl Piwakawaka drop earrings and luxe velvet Boh Runga jewellery boxes.

“I find so much joy in the way you can tell a story through jewellery, whether it’s a reminder of a special time, place or person in your life. In collaboration with Sealy New Zealand, this year’s Designer Bed design originated from a hand-drawn translation of Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s Pink Ribbon, inspired by my feather motif, which floats across the surface of the mattress in shades of white, pink and blush to promote deep and restorative rest.

When I think about what I want from my jewellery designs, longevity is at the top of the list. Rather than following current fashion trends, I wanted my Designer Bed to be timeless, with a touch of whimsy that celebrates the calming effects of nature.
